Mike and Rita from Merseyside have given lots of support to AFG since April 2011.
Their support includes promoting the “William Kill”, “No to the I.G.B. introducing and promoting greyhound racing to China” and the campaign National petition “Calling on the u.k.government to ban betting on commercial greyhound racing” petitions at awareness stalls in Bolton.
As well as this, they have sent out hundreds of WWW (Winning Words in the Workplace) packs, encouraging buisnesses, social groups and charities etc. in Manchester and surrounding areas not to support greyhound racing, which we are sure has had great success.
This dedicated pair have also done local awareness/collection days in October, November and December 2011 for AFG, as well as selling dozens of our Christmas and greeting card packs and greyhound snoods.
They are also involved with the group “Shut Down Belle Vue” group who do Saturday evening protests outside the greyhound track in Manchester.
The group also do other local awareness events….see also events/demonstrations
We thank them for their valued support.
Thank you to Erssie for your valued and generous support to AFG.

AFG would like to thank James and Keely who were two very valued supporters and donated so much dedicated support to the campaign. They fostered dozens of dogs for us, proir to them finding homes, when they lived in Norfolk. They emigrated to New Zealand in Febuary 2011.
They are of course greatly missed by many people.
However it didnt take them long to get involved out there with dog welfare and protection, they soon got involved with their local rescue centre and it wasn’t long before they brought Ned home, who they had taken out for walks several times. He had been at the rescue for 2 years with no offers of a home.
Soon after this they adopted another unwanted racing greyhound, Milly….needless to say it wasn’t long before the pair got settled in with these very dedicated, experienced “special people”.
We are sure it will not be long before we hear about another adopted dog in their home.
James and Keely continue to support AFG in many ways including helping to maintain our website.
- Milly in her foster home
- Ned at the SPCA kennels
- Milly in the garden
- Ned making himself at home
AFG would like to thank Susan Dawson and The Blue Greyhound for their valued support to AFG and for organising ebay auctions on behalf of AFG for the “Remember Rusty” portrait and recently “The In Memory of Snip Nua”. Both very kindly produced and donated to us by Thomasz Adamski.
The Blue Greyhound have their own shop with great items to be purchased to help animals.

This beautiful portrait was kindly created and donated to AFG by Thomasz Adamski for which we are very grateful…..Thank you Thomasz.
Snip’s portrait was auctioned on eBay and has managed to raise awareness of her tragic fate in the hands of the greyhound racing industry and of the thousands of greyhounds who have been injured, or destroyed following injuries, on the dangerous Greyhound race tracks and the thousands who will continue to be needlessly destroyed because of the existence of commercial greyhound racing.
The lucky winning bidder of Snip’s portrait, had this to say:-
“I bought this portrait for many reasons:-
A very sad story
To donate money to Action for Greyhounds
An xmas present for my wife
Looks very similar to our lurcher
Many thanks for the opportunity to own such a beautiful picture.
p.s. I will never watch Mock The Week again
p.p.s. Got the link from Sighthound Welfare Trust”
Thanks to Susan Dawson and The Blue Greyhound for organising this eBay auction on our behalf and for donating the cost of the eBay selling fees and very kindly donating another £ 46.00 to bring the price of the portrait up to a fantastic total of £200.00.
